Social Dance Events

We offer a variety of social dance events at Dancey Ballroom and Dance Studio for students to meet other dancers and practice what they are learning in a relaxed and friendly environment. Dancers of all ages and all levels are welcome and a partner is not necessary as everyone dances with everyone else and people change partners after every song.

We run several weekly social dance events as well as occasional special events – check out the listing below for what’s happening this month. Please note Dancey Ballroom is a dance studio, not a licensed venue, and no alcohol is served at our social events.

Tuesdays Tuesday Socials Weekly, 9:30pm-Midnight Cost: $5 at the door (cash only please) The Tuesday Socials feature an even mix of salsa, bachata and kizomba, with guest DJ AleX. For dance students, this is an excellent opportunity to practice what you learning in classes and socialize with other dancers. Please note there are no lessons or classes at this event. More info…

Thursdays Bachata Socials Weekly, 9:30pm-Midnight Cost: $5 at the door (cash only please) Vancouver’s only weekly Bachata night, featuring a mix of classic Dominican Bachata and Urban Bachata, with some Salsa and Kizomba. A casual and relaxed evening of bachata dancing open to everyone. More info…

Fridays Friday Night Salsa Weekly, 9pm-1am Cost: $10 at the door (cash only please) Vancouver’s only weekly downtown Friday salsa night. Beautiful dance floor, intro dance classes with some of Vancouver’s best instructors, guest DJs, great music, and dancers of all levels welcome. Includes a beginner/intermediate salsa lesson at 9pm. Saturdays Kizomba Nights Once a month, 1st Saturday of every month, 9pm-1am Cost: $10 at the door (cash only please) Kizomba Nights is a new, once-a-month, special event dedicated to the hot intimate dance of Kizomba. The music mix is a healthy balance of Kizomba, Bachata and Salsa, which means you’ll get more Kizomba than at any other event while enjoying the dances you already know (Salsa and Bachata). Saturdays Salsa Bachata Nights Once a month, 3rd Saturday of every month, 9pm-1am Cost: $10 at the door (cash only please) The Salsa Bachata Nights combine the best of both worlds for dancers who love salsa and bachata. These special events happen only once a month on the 3rd Saturday of every month, and feature a mix of salsa and bachata music for dancing, with kizomba and other music. More info…
